Cookies store small pieces of state for websites. They support sign-in sessions, preferences and shopping carts, but they can also be used to follow activity across sites.

First-party and third-party

First-party cookies are set in the context of the site you visit. Third-party cookies are associated with another site embedded in that page. Browser policies increasingly restrict third-party cookies, but first-party storage can still be used for analytics and advertising.

Clean carefully
