Why HTTPS Upgrade Matters
News
HTTPS uses TLS to encrypt a connection between a browser and a website and authenticate the server for the requested hostname. It helps prevent network observers from reading or modifying page content in transit.
What HTTPS does not guarantee
HTTPS does not make a malicious website trustworthy, prevent a compromised account, or hide all metadata such as the destination service. Users should still check browser certificate warnings and the domain name.
Upgrade HTTP when possible
A browser's HTTPS-upgrade feature attempts to use an encrypted URL where available. Some legacy sites may not support HTTPS. Check DI VPN's HTTPS Upgrade status and do not bypass certificate warnings.
